Mr. Jan Kees de Jager, demissionary Dutch minister of Finance will speak at our conference on the 31st of May. He will discuss the consequences of the Financial Crisis for the economy and the finances of the government, as well as the measures needed to implement in order to survive the crisis.

STAR Conference Group

The STAR Conference Group is part of the study association STAR of the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. With over 32 years of experience, STAR has become an association of influence, diversity and professionalism consisting of 5,500 (inter)national members, of whom 300 are actively involved in organizing activities. STAR is the largest and most professionally run study association for business administration students in the Netherlands and Europe.

Organizing conferences for the students of the Rotterdam School of Management has always been a part of the activities of STAR. It originally started with the 'Conferences & Networking Committee' which was split up in two committees in 2006/2007 of which one was the STAR Conference Group. The goal of the Conferences & Networking Committee and later the STAR Conference Group has always been to educate and astound students by addressing issues that move the world.

Over the years, the STAR Conference Group has progressively grown to become one of the most prominent and prestigious events considered to be a major highlight during the academic cycle. This year the STAR Conference Group organize one conference. The theme of the conference is "Financial Crisis: Bend or Break" and it will be held on the 31st May 2010. 

Mission

The STAR Conference Group's mission is to educate, facilitate and to astound RSM Erasmus University students in forming their minds about issues that move our world. Therefore they attract illustrious speakers to come to the Erasmus University Rotterdam and share their vision. The STAR Conference Group strives to deliver two head of state conferences a year. Doing so, the group enhances the overall performance of STAR's portfolio of conferences as well as the growth and flourishing of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
