Academic Services

The mission of STAR is to provide development opportunities for RSM students; therefore we believe that it is of utmost importance to provide outstanding academic services. Today we have a number of committees that provide for academic services, like the STAR Management Week (October), the BA and IBA Study Trips (April), Case Competitions (all year) and Conferences & Networking (all year). Throughout the year the Master Study Clubs organize several events to support our academic services for master students. Moreover we facilitate the book sale for all RSM students.

STAR Management Week is one of the largest student events in the Benelux. This week long, nationwide showcase event is considered our annual pinnacle as it constitutes a significant interface between students, academia, and our corporate network. STAR Management Week culminates in one of the largest student festivities in The Netherlands; the STAR Party.

During 30 years of existence, the perfect way to share knowledge and vision of world leaders and world movers has been through conferences. The Conferences & Networking committee has great opportunities and can benefit from an illustrious list of past speakers to attract future speakers.

An International Week is an exchange project for international students. A number of students from all over the world are invited by students from the host university. During this week, students participate in numerous activities to get acquainted with the city, local culture, local business life, the university, and other students.

In previous years the BA Study Trip has gone to New York, Chicago and Shanghai. During the trip you have the possibility of developing international networks with local companies and multinationals. In addition, every trip is packed with multiple parties, free time, and high-octane adrenaline activities. The BA Study Trip is a 10-day event and takes place after the exams in March/April. This year's destination is Hong Kong.

In previous years the IBA Study Trip has gone to places like Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong, Vancouver and Dehli. During the trip you will visit several companies and universities, taste the culture of the country, and of course get to know the local party scene! The IBA Study Trip is a 10-day event and takes place after the exams in April. This year's destination is Beijing.

The STAR Master Study Clubs aims to provide student clarification and intensification in the curriculum of its corresponding master programme. It provides extra value to master students by stimulating social cohesion and linking these students to potential employers. This is achieved through the organization of formal and informal activities, targeted activities with companies related to the master programme, and providing a window of opportunity for getting in contact with companies more easily. In cooperation with Studystore, Study Association STAR offers the cheapest books of Rotterdam to all its members. You can order and pay for your books online and pick them up at the T-building of the EUR Woudestein Campus.
