          - Support your team on a functional and personal level

Koen Smits, Chairman & Treasurer
STAR Management Week 2011

As the chairman of a project like the STAR Management Week, you carry the final responsibility of the whole event. This enfolds motivating the team, setting deadlines, but most important: keep the overview. As your colleagues are working on their specialized part of the project, my job was to make the team work as one. This means lots of talking with your team members. I needed to stay up-to-date about the progress each team member made and guard the overall progress to make sure all preparations would lead to the ultimate goal: the STAR Management Week 2011.

Besides, the chairman acts as a social leader. You need to be someone each individual in the team trusts with their personal issues. This is essential when it comes to intermediate in disagreements or understanding the personal growth your team members are going through.

I experienced the STAR Management Week as a unique experience. Being the chairman of this project guarantees you developing your social and strategic skills. You will face the challenge of leading a team of eight different people put together and work with them to organize one of the biggest business events of the Benelux.&nb
