Will you be part of the Activity Team?
The Activity Team (AT) gives first-year students the opportunity to get to know STAR by becoming active in a group that organizes events throughout the year.
What does the committee do?
The Activity Team consists of enthusiastic first-year students, both BA and IBA, who would like to become active in STAR but do not want to immediately start in a certain committee. You thus get a feel for the association and will organize events during the year. This allows you to develop your organizational and social skills and to determine what could be interesting for you to do the next year. In addition, you of course get to meet many new students and enlarge your group of friends on campus.
What events will you organize?
As a member of the Activity Team, you will organize several activities during the year. The group will be divided into three teams that will each think of a team name, and each team will be given responsibility for organizing certain events. The following activities are part of the Activity Teams:
- Opening Party
- Christmas Dinner for all active members of STAR
- Active Members Day
- Active Members Weekend
- Active Members Barbeque
- Special STAR Villa Nights
- Spring Party
- STAR Soccer Tournament
- Helping out other committees with their events, e.g., during the stand period of STAR Management Week or the Erasmus Recruitment Days, STAR parties, etc.
Positions
Within this group there are no specific division of functions. Each time a group organizes an event, the members are divided into different functions (e.g. chairman, marketing, treasurer) in order to provide each member with different learning experiences which allows them to determine in what functions they feel most comfortable.
Workload
The workload of this committee is about 0,5 day per week, although this may depend on the period and activity organized.
Your first year
If you choose to apply for the Activity Team you will be coupled to a board member who will guide you through your first year. Not only within your activities for STAR but also in your personal development and issues you might face.
